Dear Secretary General:
I am pleased to confirm that UNMEX.ORG supports the ten principles of the Global Compact on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.
Through this communication, we express our intention to advance these principles within our sphere of influence. We are committed to making the Global Compact and its principles part of our corporate strategy, culture and daily operations, and to engaging in collaborative projects that promote the broader development goals of the United Nations, in particular the Sustainable Development Goals. UNIMEX.ORG will make a clear statement of this commitment to our stakeholders and the public.
We recognize that a key requirement of participating in the Global Compact is to submit an annual Communication on Progress (COP) on the company's efforts to implement the ten principles. We support public accountability and transparency and therefore commit to reporting on progress within one year of joining the Global Compact and annually thereafter in accordance with the Global Compact COP Policy. This includes:
• A statement signed by the Founders and Chairman expressing continued support for the Global Compact and reaffirming our ongoing commitment to the initiative and its principles. This is separate from our initial letter of commitment to join the Global Compact.
UNIMEX.ORG Pte Ltd is a public company listed in the Republic of Singapore.
Through partnership with UNIMEX’s global maritime alumni, we intend to share skills and knowledge in all aspects of the maritime industry with maritime students through the UNIMEX video, educating them to be more qualified and adaptable in their future jobs, with easier access to professional maritime networks, and most importantly, building a so-called global engaged maritime ecosystem for the benefit of all. Other products will include the Maritime Forum, the Maritime Talent Pool, research-based consultancy, and the UNIMEX video as its flagship product.
•Describe the practical actions (i.e., disclosure of any relevant policies, procedures, activities) that the company has taken (or plans to take) to implement the Global Compact principles in each of the four issue areas (human rights, labor, environment, anti-corruption).
•Measurement of results (i.e., degree to which objectives/performance indicators were achieved, or other qualitative or quantitative measures of results)
Best regards,
Mr. Yan Xiankai
Managing Director
